>> THE GOLF COURSE ADVISORY COUNCIL BOARD FOR THE REGULAR MEETING, FEBRUARY 12TH, 9:00 A.M. WILL BE CALLED TO ORDER. AND WE WILL HAVE ROLL CALL.

>> ROLL CALL >> IF WE'LL RISE AND FACE THE FLAG AND WE'LL DO THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IS STANDS, NATION, UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.ONE NATION, UN GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.I STANDS, ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE IT STANDS, ONE NATION, UNDER

GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. >> THANK YOU.

>> THAT'S BEEN ADDED TO ALL ADVISORY BOARD MEETINGS. AND WE'LL DO THAT FROM NOW ON AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MEETING, FOLLOWING ROLL CALL. THE MINUTES ARE ATTACHED TO THE

[Item 4]

PACKET THAT YOU HAVE FROM JANUARY 8TH. >> MOVE APPROVAL.

>> SECOND. >> SECOND. >> OLD BUSINESS.

[Item 5]

>> THE DRIVING RANGE. >> DRIVING RANGE. >> BIG THANK YOU TO THE

COMMISSIONERS THAT ARE HERE TODAY. >> ABSOLUTELY.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. >> WE APPRECIATE YOUR VOTE. >> 5-0 VOTE.

THANK YOU GUYS FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND YOUR HELP IN MAKING THAT HAPPEN.

WE REALLY DO APPRECIATE IT. JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, THE BALL IS ALREADY ROLLING.

MYSELF, CHRIS, THE REGIONAL MANAGER AND DAN ZIMMER, THE OPERATING VICE PRESIDENT HAD A MEETING ON MONDAY. LASTED ABOUT AN HOUR. SO GOT DALE'S WISH LIST ON TIME FRAME. TALKED THROUGH SOME STUFF THAT IS GOING TO NEED TO HAPPEN.

AND RIGHT NOW IT'S IN THE DESIGN PHASE. THE DRAWINGS ARE BEING CONSTRUCTED AS WE SPEAK. AND THEY WILL BE SENT TO THE TRC, TECHNICAL REVIEW COMMITTEE, FOR APPROVAL. AND STEP AFTER STEP TO GET IT ALL DONE.

JUST SO YOU GUYS KNOW, THE BALL IS ALREADY ROLLING DOWN THE ROAD.

>> OKAY. THEY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR >> BILLY CASTER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURING ALL OF THE PROCUREMENT THROUGH CITY POLICY.

AS WELL AS OVERSEEING ALL OF THE CONSTRUCTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT.

>> VERY GOOD. >> WHAT'S THE TECHNICAL REVIEW COMMITTEE?

>> THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS WITHIN CODE, SO TO SPEAK.

NOT SURE. THESE GUYS CAN SPEAK TO IT MORE.

FIRST STEP. >> FIRE DEPARTMENT, CODE ENFORCEMENT.

PLANNING DEPARTMENT. ROADS DEPARTMENT. THEY MEET TWICE A MONTH.

AND ANY PLANS GO THROUGH THEM AND COMMENTS ON THEM. YOU HAVE TO DO THAT.

(INAUDIBLE) >> THANK YOU. >> HARRY HOMEOWNER.

>> SO IT'S IN THE WORKS. AND BILLY SAYS THEY WILL EXPEDITE EVERYTHING THEY CAN SO THAT THE TIME FRAME, THE GREENS WILL BE THE LAST THING TO OPEN. BECAUSE IN OUR SUPERINTENDENT'S OPINION, WE'RE GOING TO NEED AT LEAST, THREE, PROBABLY FOUR MONTHS TO GROW THEM TO MAKE

THEM THE WAY THEY NEED TO BE. >> THIS YEAR? >> THIS YEAR.

>> SO YOU'RE GOING TO TEAR THEM UP, START OVER, GO BACK TO THE OLD ORIGINAL?

>> YES. MAKE THEM THE SIZE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE.

NOT THE SHRUNKEN DOWN SIZE THAT THEY'VE BECOME OVER 62 YEARS. >> RIGHT.

YOU'LL HIRE A FIRM TO DO THAT? >> YES. >> SPECIALIZES JUST IN THAT.

>> THAT IS WHAT THEY DO AS GOLF COURSE RENOVATIONS. >> OKAY.

[Item 6]

NEW BUSINESS. >> (INAUDIBLE) I PUT THIS ON THE AGENDA SIMPLY BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW THE NEXT TIME WE MEET BOTTOMS WILL BE OVER. SO I JUST WANTED THE BOARD TO KNOW THAT THIS YEAR WE'RE GOING BACK TO THE ORIGINAL SIZE OF THE TENT.

LAST YEAR BECAUSE OF THE SPECIAL COLLECTION THEY HAD, THEY ACTUALLY ADDED 5,000

[00:05:03]

SQUARE FEET TO THE TENT TO HOUSE THE SPECIAL COLLECTION. THIS YEAR THEY DO HAVE TWO SPECIAL COLLECTIONS BUT THEY AREN'T THE SIZE OF THE ONE THEY HAD LAST YEAR.

WE'RE GOING BACK TO THE ORIGINAL LAY-OUT, ORIGINAL SIZE.

EVERYTHING IS GOING BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS TWO YEARS AGO, IDENTICAL.

WHICH IS GREAT FOR US, ESPECIALLY DAVID AND I, BECAUSE TWO YEARS AGO WHEN THEY WERE PULLING DOWN THE TENT, I HAD THEM MARK THE GOLF COURSE, AS TO THE CORNERS OF ALL OF THE DIFFERENT SECTIONS. SO NOW WHEN THEY COME IN THIS YEAR, THEY WILL GO IN WITH A METAL DETECTOR, FIND THOSE MARKS, ALSO GPS THEM, IF THEY CAN'T FIND THEM, THEY CAN GO TO THE GPS LOCATION TO LOCATE IT. AND EVERYTHING WILL BE IDENTICAL AS THE WAY IT WAS TWO

YEARS AGO. >> EXCELLENT. >> WHY IS THAT GOOD?

>> WHY IS THAT GOOD? >> BECAUSE IT'S SMALLER. AND LAST YEAR, THEY BROKE A WATER PIPE BECAUSE THEY EXTENDED IT AND IT WASN'T -- THEY PUT A STAKE WHERE THEY

SHOULDN'T. >> SO IT'S ALL UP AND RUNNING. ALREADY GOT FOOD AND BEVERAGE ORDERS READY TO PLACE FOR EVERYTHING. WE HAVE ONE MORE MEETING PRIOR WITH CHRISTY, A CONFERENCE CALL. START CONSTRUCTION ON THE 25TH OF FEBRUARY. SO THAT WILL GO DOWN TO A PAR 3 ON THE 25TH.

AND THEN -- LET ME GET THE CALENDAR SO I'M SAYING THE DATES RIGHT.

ON MARCH 2ND, 3RD, 4TH, 5TH, AND 6TH, TWO HOLES WILL BE PAR 3S.

BECAUSE CARS START ARRIVING ON THE 2ND. SO NUMBER 3 AS WELL AS NUMBER 7 WILL BE A PAR 3 FOR THOSE DAYS. AND THAT IS ONE MORE DAY THAN WE HAD IN THE PAST, IN MY CONVERSATIONS WITH CHRISTY FROM BOTTOMS, THEY WERE AT SCOTTSDALE FOR THEIR AUCTION IN SCOTTSDALE, BARRETT JACKSON AND ALL OF THOSE. THREE OF THE CARS WERE AUCTIONED OUT WITH GOLF BALLS. I MEAN, WE'RE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT AT ALL.

IT'S DEFINITELY NOT SOMETHING THAT YOU WANT TO HAVE OUT THERE.

ONE OF THOSE MILLION DOLLAR CARS GETS HIT WITH A GOLF BALL. >> LAST YEAR ALSO THERE WAS

ANOTHER AUCTION. >> THEY WILL NOT BE HERE THIS YEAR.

WE WERE INFORMED TWO WEEKS AGO THAT THEY WILL NOT BE COMING. >> WHAT HAPPENED WITH THAT, DO

YOU KNOW? >> THEY DIDN'T MAKE ENOUGH MONEY LAST YEAR.

THE WEEK AFTER OUR AUCTIONS HERE, MIKUM HAS AN AUCTION IN KISSIMMEE AND MIKUM AND STEEL HAVE THE SAME CARS. BUT MIKUM IS BETTER KNOWN BECAUSE THEY'RE TELEVISED ON NATIONAL TELEVISION. THE CONTRACT WAS NOT CANCELLED. IT WAS JUST CANCELLED FOR THIS

YEAR. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING. >> OKAY.

WOULD YOU REVIEW THE FINANCIALS FOR JANUARY? >> I WOULD LOVE TO BECAUSE

JANUARY WAS A VERY VERY GOOD MONTH. >> A LITTLE BIT OUT OF ORDER SO I'LL GO IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THEY'RE IN THE PACKET. I PRINTED THEM OFF WRONG.

TOTAL FOOD AND BEVERAGE REVENUE WAS AT $23,000, WHICH ACTUALLY HIT BUDGET.

A LITTLE BIT LIGHTER THAN LAST YEAR, BY $800. 730 BUCKS.

BUT IT WAS A VERY GOOD MONTH. A COUPLE BAD WEATHER DAYS. BUT NOT REALLY MUCH TO SPEAK OF IN JANUARY. IT WAS A NICE MONTH FOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE.

THEY ALSO GET THEIR BUDGET REVENUE AS WELL AS EBITA NUMBER.

TOTAL GOLF REVENUE WAS UP. SO THAT IS A GOOD THING. $5,000 BETTER THAN LAST YEAR.

$21,000 BETTER THAN THE YEAR BEFORE THAT. ROUNDS, WE MISSED BUDGET BY TWO ROUNDS. MY BAD BECAUSE I COULD HAVE ADDED TWO ROUNDS ANY TIME DURING THE MONTH. JUST CHECK ME IN. BUT STILL OVERALL A VERY GOOD MONTH FOR ROUNDS. AND TOTAL REVENUE, WE BEAT BUDGET BY $4,000.

BEAT EBITA BY $6,800, I BELIEVE IS THE NUMBER. SO IT WAS A GOOD FINANCIAL

[00:10:03]

MONTH FOR THE GOLF COURSE. FEBRUARY HAS STARTED OUT THE SAME.

WE ARE CURRENTLY AVERAGING 160 ROUNDS A DAY. I GAVE MY AFTERNOON CLERK IS 1-2 YESTERDAY AND SAID YOU ONLY DID 78 ROUNDS TODAY, WE DID 223 ON MONDAY.

BUT YEAH. FEBRUARY STARTED OUT GANG BUSTER.

LOOKING REALLY GOOD RIGHT NOW IN FORECASTING FOR THE BUDGET FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.

ANY QUESTIONS ON THE FINANCIALS? >> CANADIANS ARE DOWN IN FULL

FORCE. >> YEAH. AS WELL AS THEIR GEESE.

>> WE'RE SEEING FACES THIS YEAR AT THE GOLF COURSE THAT WE'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE.

AND IRONICALLY, ENOUGH THE THIRD PARTY AGENCIES THAT WE GO THROUGH THROUGH FLORIDA FIRST COAST TO GOLF, DO A PLUG FOR FLORIDA FIRST COAST TO GOLF, BECAUSE THEY ARE GOLF IN NORTHEAST FLORIDA. AND THEY TRAVEL THE WORLD TRYING TO FIND PEOPLE FROM THE NORTHEAST FLORIDA TO PLAY GOLF. AND YESTERDAY THEY WERE OUT FOR A PROMOTIONAL FILM SHOOT AT THE GOLF COURSE THAT THEY WILL PUT ON THEIR WEBSITE AS WELL AS IN THE MARKETING MATERIAL, AS WELL AS WE HAVE ACCESS AND CAN USE EVERY BIT THAT THEY PRODUCE ON OUR WEBSITE AND IN OUR

MARKETING. WHICH WILL BE HUGE. >> WHAT IS THE ASSOCIATION

NAME? >> FLORIDA'S FIRST COAST OF GOLF.

>> FIRST COAST OF GOLF. >> THEY'RE IN CONSTANT COMMUNICATION WITH GIL LANGLEY.

HE IS ACTUALLY ONE OF THE BOARD MEMBERS. >> WHO FUNDS THE FLORIDA FIRST

COAST TO GOLF? >> IT COMES THROUGH PARTICIPATIONS SUCH AS OURS, THE GOLF COURSE LEVEL, YOU CAN OPT IN TO IT. IT'S $2,000 A YEAR.

MORE THAN QUADRUPLE THAT IN THE ROUNDS THAT THEY SEND US. AND THEN ALSO THROUGH THE LOCAL TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL. GIL LANGLEY IS THE LOCAL ONE. VISIT FLORIDA SPONSORS THEM.

VISIT JACKSONVILLE SPONSORS THEM. ALL THE COUNTY TECS ALL THROW MONEY AT THEM TO GET THEM OUT THERE. IT'S A WONDERFUL ORGANIZATION.

IT REALLY IS. AND BECAUSE I DECIDED TO BECOME A BOARD MEMBER AGAIN THIS YEAR, I TALKED THEM INTO DOING A PROMOTIONAL SHOOT AT OUR PROPERTY.

>> VERY GOOD. NEXT YEAR IS WHEN WE WILL NEED A PROMOTIONAL SHOOT.

>> IT'S BEEN COMMITTED BY THEM TO DO THAT. AND ONCE TOP TRACER IS UP AND RUNNING, THEY WILL SEND THE FILM CREW BACK OUT TO UPDATE IT.

>> EXCELLENT. >> WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE IN THE RENOVATIONS OF THE GREENS, THE

WHOLE NINE HOLES WILL BE CLOSED, RIGHT? >> CORRECT.

>> IS THAT MAY TO SEPTEMBER? >> IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE PROCESS AND HOW IT GOES.

YOU KNOW, THE REVENUE PORTION OF EVERYTHING THAT WAS APPROVED IS THE TOP TRACER.

WE WANT THAT FIRST. NOW, THE PROJECTS WILL RUN CONCURRENTLY, BUT BECAUSE YOU NEED 12 TO 16 WEEKS OF GROWING FOR THE GRASS, THAT IS GOING TO BE THE LAG ON THE GREENS.

BECAUSE YOU CAN'T JUST SPROUT IT TODAY AND PLAY ON IT TOMORROW.

>> RIGHT. >> YOU PUT SPRIGS IN WHICH IS SMALL PIECES OF SOD.

BUT EVEN SO, YOU PUT SOD IN, YOU NEED 12 WEEKS TO GROW. TO KEEP IT SMOOTH.

[Item 7]

>> MGA. >> YOU WANT TO GIVE US A TOURNAMENT UPDATE.

>> WE HAVE ONE MARCH 7TH. IT'S CALLED THE FBMJ. THREE FLIGHTS.

I'M HOPING WE GET 30 PLAYERS. >> THAT IS OUR ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP?

>> NO. WHAT WE DID, TWO YEARS AGO, WE DID A FIVE TOURNAMENT. AND IT WAS TOO MUCH.

ANYWAY, IT'S JUST INDIVIDUAL REAL GOLF. >> SO IT'S AN INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT AND EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVEN'T PREVIOUSLY PLAYED IN TOURNAMENTS, YOU COULD WIN A

CUP EVENT THAT DAY? >> IT'S JUST ONE EVENT. YOU WIN CREDITS AND A HAT.

I'M GIVING THREE HATS OUT. BMJ CUP WINNER. SO THAT IS THE MAIN THING.

AND THERE IS APRIL TOURNAMENTS. WE HAVE TOURNAMENTS EVERY MONTH GOING FORWARD.

BIG ISSUE IS THERE IS A MOTION ON THE BULLETIN BOARD IN THE PRO SHOP TO CHANGE, TO LEAVE

[00:15:10]

ANY MENTION OF AGE IN REGARD TO TEE BOXES. THAT WILL BE ON THE AGENDA.

I THINK IT REQUIRES TWO-THIRDS OF THE MEMBERS PRESENT TO PASS THAT.

I AM GOING TO START WORKING AGAIN, I HAVE MATERIALS THAT I PUT TOGETHER IN THE PREVIOUS THAT I'VE PLAYED FOR WHERE TEE IT FORWARD, SINCE 2011, PGA ALL SAY PLAY THE TEE BOXES WHERE YOU HAVE THE MOST FUN AND MOST COMPETITIVE. IT'S A BIG ISSUE FOR ME BECAUSE I'M NOT HAVING FUN. AND JUST BECAUSE I'M NOT 72, I CAN'T PLAY WHERE I WANT TO PLAY. I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WILL TURN OUT.

>> SO WHEN IS THAT MEETING? >> FIRST WEDNESDAY OF APRIL. I DON'T KNOW.

>> WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? >> CURRENTLY THERE IS AN AGE RESTRICTION AS TO WHAT TEE BOXES YOU CAN PLAY. BECAUSE WE HAVE RED TEE BOX, GOLD TEE BOX.

THE TEE BOX IS WHERE YOU START. SO THE RED IS THE MOST FORWARD. BLUE BOX IS THE MOST BACK.

WELL, THE COURSE PLAYS DIFFERENTLY FROM EVERY TEE BOX. SO IF YOU PLAY THE RED TEE BOX, THE MALE COURSE RATING IS 63.8. IF YOU'RE A SCRATCH GOLFER, YOU SHOULD SHOOT 64.

THE BLUE TEE BOX, IT'S RATED AT 72.9. WHICH MEANS IF YOU'RE A SCRATCH GOLFER, YOU SHOULD SHOOT A 73. SO YOUR HANDICAP IS BASED ON THAT.

BECAUSE IT USES A FORMULATION OF WHATEVER PARS FOR THE GOLF COURSE, COURSE RATING AND THE SLOPE RATING, WHICH IS THE DIFFICULTY IN THE GOLF COURSE. SO IT TAKES THAT INTO AN ALGORITHM AND PRODUCES A HANDICAP FOR YOU. WELL, THE USGA, RNA, WORLD GOLF ASSOCIATION HAS NOW GONE TO ONE GLOBAL HANDICAPPING SYSTEM, WHEREAS THEY ALL USED TO HAVE THEIR OWN HANDICAPPING SYSTEM. SO IT'S A BIG SWITCH FROM THE USGA BECAUSE NOW IT'S ALL BASED ON WHAT TEE BOX YOU PLAY, NOT THE GOLF COURSE. A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT PLAYED THE RED TEES, THEY'VE SEEN THEIR HANDICAPS DROP BY FIVE OR SIX STROKES.

WHICH THEY DON'T THINK IS FAIR. THE PEOPLE THAT PLAY FROM THE WHITE AND BLUE TEES HAVE SEEN THEIR HANDICAPS GROWN BY TWO OR THREE STROKES, WHICH THEY THINK IS COMPLETELY FAIR.

>> WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL? >> MUCH LIKE BOWLING, WHEN YOU HAVE A HANDICAP.

IT LEVELS THE PLAYING FIELD. >> IT LEVELS THE PLAYING FIELD. SO I CAN PLAY HARRY FROM THE RED TEES AND I CAN PLAY THE BLUE TEES AND WE'RE PLAYING ON LEVEL SURFACE BECAUSE HE IS A

16 OR SOMETHING. >> 17. >> MOVE ME BACK, I COULD BE TWO OR THREE FROM THE BLUE TEES, VERSUS MOVING TO THE RED TEES WHERE I WOULD BE AN 11.

>> SO SUNDAY, STEVE AND I AND RAY MOSS PLAYED GOLF TOGETHER. WE PLAYED WHAT I WOULD CONSIDER REAL GOLF. HITTING THE BALL WHERE IT LIES. AND WE USED OUR HANDICAPS.

WHEN WE FINISHED, OUR SCORES WERE ALMOST EVEN. >> WITH THE HANDICAP.

>> WITH THE HANDICAPS. BECAUSE WE'RE PLAYING FROM TWO DIFFERENT PLACES.

BUT I GET STROKES ON THOSE TWO GUYS. >> SO HARRY IS A 17.

HE GOES OUT THERE AND HE SHOOTS AN 87. NOW YOU SUBTRACT THE HANDICAP WHICH PUTS HIM IN 70. T RAY IS A 12. HE SHOOTS AN 82.

NOW HE SHOT 70. TO EVEN THE PLAYING FIELD OUT. >> COMPETE.

>> IF THERE WASN'T ANY STROKES INVOLVED, I COULD GO OUT THERE AND FAIR 73, 74, HE WOULD SHOOT

AN 87 AND HE WOULD LOSE EVERY TIME. >> HE SHOULD.

>> AND AT THE COMPETITION, HE DOES LOSE EVERY TIME. BUT TO LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD,

THEY CREATE A HANDICAP. >> THEY WOULD NEVER GET A BET OUT OF ME IF WE HAD TO DO THAT.

>> IT'S ONE OF THE GREAT THINGS ABOUT GOLF. >> I NEVER UNDERSTOOD THAT.

>> STEVE, SO THE CHANGE BASED ON TEE BOX, AS OPPOSED TO PREVIOUSLY IT WAS BASED ON THE

[00:20:06]

COURSE RATING? >> BEFORE IT WAS JUST COURSE RATING AND SLOPE.

>> SLOPE. >> NOW THEY ENCOMPASS THE PAR FACTOR INTO IT AND CHANGED THE ALGORITHM ON THE SLOPE AS TO WHAT PERCENTAGE THEY USE OF IT. AND NOW THEY ONLY TAKE EIGHT OF YOUR LAST 20 SCORES, VERSUS BEFORE IT WAS TEN OF YOUR LAST 20 SCORES.

THEY ONLY TAKE THE BEST EIGHT. >> RIGHT. >> AND/OR TOURNAMENT ROUNDS.

>> RIGHT. WHICH IS SIMILAR, OTHER THAN IT WAS TEN.

>> UH-HUH. >> WHY HAVE THE RED TEE PLAYERS GONE DOWN DRAMATICALLY?

>> BECAUSE THEY'RE PLAYING AN EASIER GOLF COURSE. >> BUT PREVIOUSLY THE COURSE RATING AND THE SLOPE, THE COURSE RATING AND SLOPE ARE STILL THE SAME?

>> YES. BUT IN THE OLD HANDICAPPING SYSTEM, IT NEVER TOOK IN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO. WHEN YOU GUYS WERE IN THE TOURNAMENTS YOU KEPT SAYING YOU NEED TO DO STROKE ADJUSTMENTS FOR THE GOLF COURSE, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT ANYMORE BECAUSE

IT'S INSIDE THE HANDICAPPING SYSTEM. >> GOTCHA.

OKAY. >> BECAUSE IF I'M PLAYING GOLF THAT IS DIFFICULTY IS 73, I CAN'T COMPETE WITH SOMEBODY AT THE SAME LEVEL THAT IS PLAYING GOLF COURSES RATED AT 63.

BECAUSE I'M GIVING YOU TEN POPS RIGHT THERE. >> I KNOW.

I'M TEXTING DOUG WOLF TODAY. I'M NOT PLAYING IN SOME OF THE MONEY GAMES.

HE'S ALL UPSET. IT'S NOT FAIR. >> I AM A FIRM BELIEVER THAT

EVERYBODY SHOULD PLAY WHERE THEY'RE COMFORTABLE. >> LET ME ASK YOU YOUR ADVICE THEN, BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY YOU'RE SUPPORTING WHAT I'M SUPPORTING, WHICH IS PLAY WHERE YOU'RE

COMFORTABLE AND YOU HAVE THE MOST FUN. >> YES.

>> IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO SPEAK AT YOUR MEETING, LET ME KNOW AND I WILL DEVELOP MATERIAL TO PUT ON THE POWERPOINT LIKE WE DID THE LAST TIME.

>> I WOULD LOVE IT. >> I'LL PUT TOGETHER A PACKET. >> WE'RE GETTING THEM.

WE HAVE RED TEE PLAYERS THAT ARE OLDER AND THEY WENT THROUGH THE PROGRESSION FROM WHITE TO

GOLD TO RED. SOME OF THEM. >> THE NICE PART ABOUT IT IS MUCH LIKE WHEN T RAY AND LAFERE PLAYED, HE MOVED BACK A TEE BOX AND THEY ENDED UP GOING TO THE VERY LAST HOLE FOR THE WINNER. IF HE PLAYED FORWARD, HE WOULD HAVE LOST THREE DOWN WITH FOUR

TO PLAY. >> CORRECT. >> T RAY PUT TWO BIRDIES RIGHT

ON HIS BUTT TOO. >> THAT IS A BIG ISSUE. I'D LOVE TO HAVE YOU BE

INVOLVED IN THAT. >> WHAT IS THE QUESTION, JOE? >> THEY'RE ALL THE SAME.

THEY ALL START AT THE SAME PLACE AND GO. WE DON'T PLAY FOR MONEY.

WHICH I DIDN'T KNOW YOU GUYS DID. >> THAT'S WHY GOLF WAS

INVENTED. >> JACK. >> THERE IS ALSO A JOHN BURKE 8606 EAST PORT DRIVE FERNANDINA BEACH FLORIDA, PAST PRESIDENT OF THE MENS GOLF ASSOCIATION.

THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER MAJOR CHANGE THAT IS GOING TO BE UP FOR REVIEW AT THE APRIL MEETING TOO, WHICH IS TO ALLOW MEMBERS TO VOTE ELECTRONICALLY. IN OTHER WORDS, E-MAIL.

THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE AT THE MEETING. >> IS THAT ON THE BOARD ALSO?

>> YES, IT IS. >> OKAY. THERE IS TWO MOTIONS ON THE

BULLETIN BOARD IN THE PRO SHOP. >> SO I WANTED TO BRING THAT UP.

BECAUSE THERE'S TWO IMPORTANT THINGS THAT ARE GOING TO BE DISCUSSED IN APRIL THAT AFFECT EVERY MEMBER REALLY. ALSO, I DON'T KNOW THAT THIS IS THE FORUM TO DO IT, BUT SOMEONE CAME TO ME AND COMPLAINED IN THE KNOCK-OUT WHY -- SO WE'LL TALK ABOUT THAT ANOTHER TIME.

AND THE REST I'LL TALK ABOUT LATER. I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE WERE AWARE OF THE FACT THAT THERE'S TWO BIG MOTIONS COMING UP.

THANK YOU. >> ALSO, I SHOULD PROBABLY MENTION THE FUN OF IT ON LAST SUNDAY, I WAS PLAYING WITH THREE RED TEE PLAYERS. I AM ONLY ENTITLED TO PLAY FROM THE GOLD TEE NORMALLY. BUT I PLAYED FROM THE RED TEE. I NORMALLY SHOOT PROBABLY 94, IF I PLAY REALLY WELL, 97 IF I'M NOT HAVING A GREAT DAY. I SHOT AN 82 WITH THREE BIRDIES. SO I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT WELL, IF WE MAKE THE CHANGE, I PROBABLY WON'T MOVE UP. I'LL STAY AT THE GOLD. I'M MOVING UP TOO.

>> ALL RIGHT. ANYTHING ELSE FROM THE MGA PERSPECTIVE?

>> JUST REMEMBER, JOHN, YOUR HANDICAP WILL ADJUST TO THAT. >> I PUT IT IN.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT EVERYBODY ELSE. I LOADED THE SCORE UNDER THE

[00:25:05]

RED TEE. >> WE'RE MOVING THE RED TEES BACK NOW, AREN'T WE?

>> WHERE THE GOLDS ARE. >> OKAY. >> I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING.

[Item 8]

>> I'M SORRY. >> NO LADIES GOLF. >> NO.

>> SINCE WE'RE STILL IN THE ASSOCIATION PORTION OF IT, I SENT AN E-MAIL OUT AND I SENT IT TO YOU AND PRICE AND BRUCE AND I SENT IT TO KATHLEEN WHO IS YOUR PRESIDENT AND TREASURER. THE PRICE WENT UP INSTEAD OF $9 TO $13 A PLAYER.

YOU GUYS WILL HAVE TO BUDGET ACCORDINGLY TO THAT. I'M NOT GOING TO EAT IT.

>> IS THAT TO THE FLORIDA STATE GOLF ASSOCIATION? >> YES.

JOHN. >> AS LONG AS STEVE BROUGHT THAT UP, I WOULD LIKE TO ASK, OKAY, SO YOU GUYS CHARGE US IN SEPTEMBER. CORRECT? BASICALLY IT'S THE END OF OUR YEAR. AND SO HOW DOES JEN CHARGE US? IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OKAY, OUR MEMBERSHIP STARTS NORMALLY OCTOBER 1ST.

THE PREVIOUS OCTOBER WE'VE COLLECTED THE MONEY, FOR MOST OF THE MEMBERS, BUT WE DO ADD PEOPLE ALL THE WAY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IS THERE -- ARE YOU PAYING ANY DIFFERENT WHETHER SOMEBODY IS USING THAT GYM FROM OCTOBER 1ST VERSUS SEPTEMBER 10TH, BECAUSE THEY WANT TO GET IN A SEPTEMBER TOURNAMENT SO THEY END UP JOINING THE MGA BECAUSE THEY

WANT TO GET IN THE TOURNAMENT. >> IT'S THE SAME PRICE, NO MATTER WHAT MONTH YOU JOIN.

>> THANK YOU. APPRECIATE THAT. >> THEY DON'T PRO RATE.

>> HOW DOES THAT WORK, YOU CHARGE MGA? >> WE CHARGE MGA, 18 HOLE AND 9-HOLE RATES. WE ONLY CHARGE WHAT THEY CHARGE US.

>> THAT GOES TO THE FSJ? >> YES. >> $60 USED TO COVER 9 AND NOW

IT'S GOING TO COVER 13. LESS CASH IN THE MGA. >> $400 THAT'S NOT IN THE

BUDGET. >> GOTCHA. I'M TAKING 100 MEMBERS, $4

DIFFERENCE IS $400. NOT IN THE BUDGET. >> IF YOU START ALLOWING A VOTE ON THE INTERNET, ARE YOU STILL GOING TO HAVE A FREE DINNER AND DO THE MEETINGS AT THE GOLF

COURSE? >> NOT A QUESTION FOR ME. I AM NO LONGER ON THE BOARD.

SO I DON'T MAKE ANY DECISIONS. I JUST HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS, SO I LIKE TO COME TO THE

MEETINGS TO LEARN. >> THAT DISCUSSION HASN'T COME UP.

>> IT WILL COME UP AT YOUR NEXT MEETING. >> IT SHOULD.

[Item 9]

>> OKAY. WE MOVE IN TO THE MARKETING UPDATE.

>> ALL RIGHT. FIRST ONE IS OUR WEEKEND SPECIAL.

THIS ONE HAS BEEN PHENOMENAL FOR US. BECAUSE IN JANUARY OF THE LAST THREE YEARS, WE'VE AVERAGED 110 ROUNDS ON SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS.

THIS YEAR, WE'RE AVERAGING 155. WHICH IS HUGE DIFFERENCE. SO THIS IS REALLY WORKING VERY WELL FOR US. THE NEXT ONE IS JUST YOU KNOW, GIVING THE GOLF COURSE AND THE SUPERINTENDENT PROPS ON THE WAY THE COURSE LOOKS. BECAUSE IT'S REALLY LOOKING

NICE. >> THE COURSE IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL, DAVID.

AND I KNOW THAT THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF COMPLIMENTS COME IN TO THE PRO SHOP.

AND TO STEVE. >> I DON'T PASS THOSE ALONG. >> I KNOW.

>> I GET COMPLIMENTS AND PEOPLE IN THE AREA ARE COMPLIMENTING US, LIKE FOLKS FROM NORTH JAX COME OVER AND PLAY QUITE A BIT. AND THE CANADIANS THAT COME DOWN.

I HAVEN'T HEARD ANY NEGATIVE COMMENTS. SO THAT IS GOOD.

>> LOTS OF POSITIVE COMMENTS. >> ALWAYS GOOD. >> AND THE LAST ONE IS SENT OUT TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE SPECIAL PRICING, BUT IT'S OUR REGULAR PRICING.

WE'RE ACTUALLY GETTING SIX PERCENT CLICK-THROUGH RATE ON THIS E-MAIL.

WHICH IS HUGE IN THE E-MAIL MARKETING. AND THAT IS ALL I'VE GOT.

>> OKAY. DAVID. >> I GOT ONE QUESTION FOR STEVE. RIGHT NOW DON'T WE AFTER THREE HAVE A CHANGE IN RATE?

[00:30:05]

THIS SAYS AFTER FOUR. >> IN MARCH 1ST, IT'S GOING TO FOUR O'CLOCK.

THAT IS WHY GETTING PEOPLE ACCUSTOMED TO IT NOW. >> WE HAVE A FEW MORE TO REMOVE

[Item 10]

ON THE NORTH. WE'RE TRYING TO WORK ON THE SOUTH AREA, LAKE EDGE TO TRY TO GET CLEANED UP. THE VISUAL ASPECT IS GOING TO BE A LOT BETTER, YOU CAN SEE HOLE TO HOLE. AND THEN ONCE WE HAVE A FEW MORE ON THE WEST TO TAKE OUT ALSO. SO HOPEFULLY BEFORE WE START GROWING GRASS, WE'LL GET THE

DEAD TREES DOWN. >> YEAH. I'M SORRY.

>> AND WE'RE IN THE PROCESS OF TREATING THE GREENS ONE LAST TIME.

>> EXCELLENT. >> WE'LL SEE HOW THAT GOES FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS.

>> YOU'VE CUT OUT A LOT AROUND THE LAKES. IT LOOKS GREAT.

>> I WANT TO TRY TO GET THE BUSHES DOWN TO THE GROUND COMPLETELY.

JUST SO THERE IS NO BLOCKAGE. BECAUSE IT'S REALLY -- A LOT OF AREAS ARE NOT IN PLAY.

BUT STILL IT WILL GIVE THE HOMEOWNERS A LITTLE BIT MORE VIEW.

BUT IT'S GOING TO MAKE A DRAMATIC IMPACT LIKE ON 4 OR 5 WEST.

BECAUSE IT WILL LOOK SIMILAR TO 7 WEST AND 5 NORTH. >> IT'S FUN TO WATCH THE GATORS HUNTING ON NUMBER TWO TO THE BUSHES TOO. ON THE BANK OF 7.

>> ACROSS THE LAKE, IT'S GREAT. >> OKAY. ANY PUBLIC COMMENT?

>> I HAVE A QUESTION. CAN I ASK A QUESTION? WHAT EXACTLY -- BECAUSE I'VE BEEN GETTING QUESTIONS ON POANA. WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?

>> THERE ARE A FEW HERBACIDES OUT THERE THAT I'VE TAKEN OUT. WHAT I USED LAST YEAR, I'M USING AGAIN THIS TIME. BECAUSE I WAS TRYING TO GO WITH A DIFFERENT CONCOCTION OF THE SAME CHEMICALS. I TRIED SOMETHING ELSE BUT THEY DIDN'T WORK.

I AM GOING BACK TO WHAT I USED LAST YEAR TO REMEDY THAT PROBLEM.

>> THANK YOU. NO OTHER COMMENT? >> I MOVE THAT WE ADJOURN.

[Item 11 & 12]

>> WAIT A MINUTE. PUBLIC COMMENT. >> PLEASE.

>> I ASKED. >> WE JUST DID IT. >> HE JUST ASKED.

>> WOULD YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF, PLEASE. >> I MISSED IT I'M SORRY.

I WAS LISTENING AND CONTEMPLATING HIS ANSWER. I'M A LITTLE SLOW.

THAT IS WHY I SHOULD MOVE UP TO THE RED. ANYWAY, THE ONLY OTHER QUESTIONS THAT I HAD WAS DO WE DO ANYTHING WITH, IS THERE A WAY FOR CONDO RENTALS? I MEAN I KNOW WE GET A LOT OF PLAY FROM AMELIA SOUTH AND THAT TYPE OF STUFF.

I KNOW WE'RE IN THE HOTELS AND DOING ALL OF THAT KIND OF STUFF WITH THE MARKETING.

IS THERE ANYTHING, IS THERE A CONDO ASSOCIATION? AND ALSO, DO WE HAVE SHEETS OR WHATEVER AT THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, AND THAT KIND OF STUFF TOO? THAT IS PART OF IT. AND DO YOU WANT THEM TO ANSWER THAT AND THEN ME ASK MY OTHER

QUESTION OR DO YOU WANT ME TO ASK BOTH QUESTIONS RIGHT NOW? >> STEVE.

>> NO. WE'RE NOT IN ANY CONDO ASSOCIATIONS. BECAUSE MOST CONDOMINIUM RENTALS FOR THE SEASON ARE DONE INDIVIDUALLY. THEY AREN'T DONE BY A COLLECTIVE GROUP. THEY'RE DONE BY CERTAIN REAL ESTATE AGENTS.

WE ARE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. YES, WE'RE IN THE WELCOME

PACKET. >> ALTHOUGH THERE IS A CONDO GROUP THAT HAS A SCRAMBLE ON

EVERY THURSDAY I THINK IT IS. AMELIA SOUTH. >> TWICE A WEEK.

>> TWICE A WEEK. >> OKAY. THANK YOU.

>> AND THAT IS THEM WHO SET THAT UP. ONE PERSON CAME DOWN AND SPENT A WINTER HERE 20 YEARS AGO AND STARTED BRINGING ALL OF HIS FRIENDS DOWN WITH THEM.

THEY HAVE EXPANDED TO PEOPLE THAT DON'T LIVE IN THE AREA TO BE PART OF IT.

>> MY LAST QUESTION, GUARANTEE IT, THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE, IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN LAST YEAR BECAUSE THEY WERE BRINGING IN THE SPECIAL CARS, WE BEEFED UP THE SCALE OF THE FOOD, WHICH INCREASED THE PRICE WHICH HELPED TO BRING IN A LITTLE BIT MORE MONEY.

WHAT IS THE STORY ON THAT FOR THIS YEAR, PLEASE? >> FOOD AND BEVERAGE PACKAGE IS SELECTED BY BONHAMS. WE HAVE NO INPUT ON IT. THEY DECIDE WHAT THEY WANT.

[00:35:04]

THIS WILL BE AS UPSCALE IF NOT MORE UPSCALE THAN LAST YEAR, BECAUSE THE OTHER TWO COLLECTIONS THAT THEY HAVE ARE CLOSE TO MILLION DOLLARS CARS, NOT 60 AND $70,000 CARS.

>> GOOD NEWS. THANK YOU. APPRECIATE IT.

>> ANYTHING ELSE? >> OKAY. >> PUBLIC COMMENT.

>> I MOVE THAT WE ADJOURN THE MEETING. >> SECOND IT.

>> ALL IN FAVOR.
