AS FAR AS THE $50,000, WITH PAYMENT IN LIEU, WHAT WAS BROUGHT UP THIS MORNING IS THAT IF THOSE FACILITIES WERE BEING USED BY A NONGOVERNMENT CORPORATE -- NONGOVERNMENT ENTITY, THEY WOULD BE PAYING $183,000 A YEAR IN TAXES, JUST TO US, AND PROBABLY THE SAME AMOUNT TO THE COUNTY. OKAY? WHAT WE HAVE HAD FOR YEARS AND WHAT THEY AGREED TO TO GET THE PORT THERE. THE PORT, WHEN IT WAS FIRST TO COME THERE WAS A VERY CONTROVERSIAL ISSUE. COLEMAN LANGSHAW CAN TALK TO THAT. LOT OF PEOPLE DID NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN. THERE'S WHOLE BUNCH OF BOXES AND STUFF THAT IF YOU GO THROUGH ALL THAT HISTORY, THERE WERE MANY PEOPLE OPPOSED TO IT. SO TO GET THEM TO DO IT, THEY MADE AGREEMENT TO A LOT OF THINGS. ONE OF THEM, AT LEAST $50,000 A YEAR IN PERPITUITY. AND THEY GET VERY LIMITED FUNDS. AND THEY, QUOTE, DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY. WELL, WHAT THEY DO HAVE, THEY INCREASED THEIR SALARY FROM $1,000 A MONTH TO $2,000 A MONTH. IF THEY HADN'T HAVE DONE THAT, YOU CAN DO THE MATH. THAT'S $60,000 A YEAR THAT WOULD EASILY PAY THE $50,000 A YEAR. SO THEY CLEARLY DO HAVE THE MONEY. THEY GO TO ONE MEETING A MONTH, MORE OR LESS. YOU CAN DO THE MATH FOR THAT, TOO. BASICALLY, THE CITY'S POSITION IS THAT YOU ARE HERE. WE PROVIDE SERVICES TO YOU. AND WE THINK YOU SHOULD CONTRIBUTE. SOMETHING HAPPENS TO THAT RAMP AND THERE'S WHATEVER, WE CAN'T PAY SOMEBODY TO MONITOR THAT OUT OF THE MARINA BUDGET. WE'RE NOT GETTING ANY REVENUE FROM THAT.
