WE -- PERFECT. JUST A REMINDER OF OUR MISSION, WE ARE PRESERVATION-BASED ECONOMIC VITALITY FOCUSED ON CENTRIST TREAT, THE CRA AND ALSO ON THE EIGHTH STREET BUSINESS DISTRICT. WE ALSO HAVE 43 PEOPLE THAT SERVE ON OUR COUNCILS, WHICH MEANS THEY MEET WITH US EVERY MONTH TO WORK ON PROJECTS, AND ANOTHER 200 EVENT VOLUNTEERS THAT COME OUT TO HELP US , YOU KNOW, WHENEVER WE PUT ON AN EVENT. WE ARE VERY BLESSED IN THAT WAY. IN THE FIRST QUARTER WE HELD A COUPLE OF EVENTS. THE FIRST ONE WAS SIP AND SHOP.

THIS WAS PURPOSEFULLY DONE IN JANUARY BECAUSE IT IS A SLOW TIME. HE HAD EXCELLENT PARTICIPATION. THIS WAS THE BEST EVER IN TERMS OF NUMBERS OF BUSINESSES PARTICIPATING. WE HAD 31. JUST TWO YEARS AGO WE WERE GETTING ABOUT 20, SO WE HAVE ADDED QUITE A FEW. WE HAD 60 VOLUNTEERS THAT HELPS BY POURING WINE AND MANNING THE REGISTRATION TABLE. AND THEN WE

HAD 350 SHOPPERS. SO WE SOLD OUT ALL OF THE WINE CUPS THAT WE HAD, SO IT WAS GREAT . AND A NICE BOOST FOR THE BUSINESSES.

THEY REPORT GREAT SALES THAT NIGHT. IT IS A TIME OF YEAR WHERE IT IS A BIT SLOW AFTER THE HOLIDAYS. THEN WE ALSO HELD A MEET AND GREET FOR BUSINESSES. WE TRY TO DO THIS QUARTERLY. IT IS COFFEE AND NETWORKING, BUT THEN ALSO WITH A FOCUS. SO USUALLY WE DO JUST A SHORT PROGRAM TO LET THEM KNOW ABOUT SOMETHING THAT IS GOING ON. THIS ONE FOCUSED ON THE ARBORETUM, THE FERNANDINA BEACH MAIN STREET ARBORETUM , AND WE ALSO ANNOUNCED THE CURB APPEAL AWARD FOR THAT FOURTH QUARTER OF LAST YEAR. WE HAD ABOUT 65 PEOPLE REPRESENTING 45 BUSINESSES THAT SHOWED UP FOR THIS ONE. THIS WAS THE BEST ATTENDED MEET AND GREET AS WELL. RIGHT NOW I'M GOING WE HAVE HAD MC MADNESS. THIS IS AN EVENT THAT FOCUSES ON THE BUSINESSES ON A STREET. WE'VE HAD PHENOMENAL PARTICIPATION FROM OUR BUSINESSES. WE HAVE 30 BUSINESSES PARTICIPATING ALONG EIGHTH STREET, SO EVERYBODY, EVERY BUSINESS HAS A STACK OF SHOPPING CARDS. PEOPLE GO IN. IF THEY SPEND $10, THEY GET A MARK ON THEIR CARD. AND THEN THE MORE MARKS THEY GET, THE MORE CHANCES THEY HAVE TO WIN. WE ARE HAVING AN AFTER PARTY ON APRIL 7, WHICH WILL COORDINATE WITH MARCH MADNESS. THAT IS AT FIRST LOVE FROM 2:00 TO 4:00 IN THE AFTERNOON. IF YOU HAVE A SHOPPING CARD WITH EVEN ONE BOX CHECKED , YOU WILL GET A CHANCE TO ENTER AND WIN PRIZES FROM THOSE 30 BUSINESSES. WE ARE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT , AND WE ARE THANKFUL FOR NOT ONLY THOSE BUSINESSES, BUT FIRST LOVE FOR HOSTING US FOR THE PARTY. AND THEN IN THE FIRST QUARTER, WE ALSO GAVE OUT TWO AWARDS. THE FIRST FOR THE CURB APPEAL AWARD. IT RECOGNIZES A BUSINESS THAT HAS IMPROVED THE PROPERTY IN SOME WAY SO THAT THE EXTERIOR IS BETTER LOOKING THAN IT WAS BEFORE. 13 WAS NOMINATED BECAUSE THEY HAD ADDED A BUTTERFLY GARDEN AND LANDSCAPING TO THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING. THIS IS A GLUTEN-FREE BAKERY THAT IS LOCATED ON NINTH STREET , RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM THE BEECH STREET SHOPS. ALSO AN AWESOME HISTORIC BUILDING THAT HAS BEEN MOVED AND RESTORED. IF YOU GET THE CHANCE, STOP BY. AND THEN WE WERE SO HAPPY TO PRESENT OUR FIRST FACADE GRANTS . I THINK I MENTIONED THIS MAY BE THE LAST TIME I WAS HERE THAT IT WAS GOING TO WICKED BOW, BUT SHE HAS COMPLETED ALL OF THE WORK SO WE WERE ABLE TO PRESENT THE CHECK. THIS IS OUR BOARD CHAIR TERESA DUNCAN PRESENTING THE CHECK FOR EXTERIOR PAINTING. SHE, THEY RESTORED ALL OF THE EXTERIOR WOOD SURFACES, THE A.D.A. RAMP , STUFF LIKE THAT.

IT WAS A GREAT PROJECT AND WE WERE REALLY HAPPY TO BE A PART OF IT. THE OTHER THING WE HAVE BEEN FOCUSED ON THIS QUARTER IS THE ARBORETUM. WE RECEIVED OUR DESIGNATION LATE LAST YEAR. OUR NEXT STEPS ARE THE SIGNAGE FOR IT. SO THIS WOULD BE POLE BANNERS THAT WOULD RECOGNIZE THAT FERNANDINA BEACH MAIN STREET IS AN ARBORETUM. IT IS DESIGNATED. THERE WILL ALSO BE A CORRESPONDING TREE TOUR SO THAT THE DESIGNATION IS RECEIVED AT LEVEL ONE WHEN YOU HAVE AT LEAST 25 WOODY SPECIES IDENTIFIED WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES. WE HAVE MORE THAN THAT WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES. THEY ARE IDENTIFIED. OTHERWISE, WE WILL BE ABLE TO BE IN ALL EIGHT CHURCHES, AND THEY HAVE SOME MAGNIFICENT STAINED-GLASS. I WAS JUST IN NEW ZION TODAY , AND THEY JUST, THEY ARE JUST FINISHING UP A RESTORATION PROJECT. THIS WILL BE THE CULMINATION OF THE BICENTENNIAL YEAR CELEBRATION, SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 1ST , SO PLEASE SAVE THE DATE. IT IS GOING TO BE AN AFTERNOON EVENT WITH KIND OF, LIKE, WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, A LONG TABLE DOWN CENTER STREET OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY. WE ARE HOPING THAT EVERYBODY COMES OUT. WE ARE WORKING VERY HARD TO GET SOME SPONSORSHIP SO WE CAN MAKE IT VERY AFFORDABLE , AND WE ARE WORKING WITH OUR LOCAL RESTAURANTS TO PROVIDE FOOD THAT DAY, SO WE ARE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT . ONE OF THE THINGS I DID WANT TO MENTION IS THAT WE JUST WENT THROUGH A PROCESS OF GETTING A NEW LOGO , AND CREATING A NEW WEBSITE. AND SO , ONE OF THE THINGS WE WERE LOOKING TO DO WITH THE WEBSITE WAS MAKE IT MORE USER-FRIENDLY TO BOTH PUBLIC AND THE BUSINESSES, SO WE REALLY ENHANCED THE BUSINESS DIRECTORY. IT IS VERY SORTABLE . YOU CAN FIND WHATEVER YOU'RE LOOKING FOR, WHETHER IT IS CHURCHES, FOOD ENTERING, YOU KNOW, BY CATEGORY. YOU CAN GO TO THE BUSINESS WEBSITES. AS LONG AS THE BOAT RAMP IS OPEN , THE TRAILER PARKING WILL BE LEFT OPEN AND WILL STAY OPEN DURING SPECIAL EVENTS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SHRIMP FESTIVAL . OKAY. WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THE TOUR BUSES COME DOWN AND PARK IN THE SPOTTED LOCALS WHO ARE RUNNING BUSINESS OR JUST PERSONAL FISHING HAVE NO PLACE TO PARK THEIR VEHICLES AND THEIR TRAILERS.
