ONE IS THE TAX AWAY ALPHA PROJECT, WHICH IS A FAA GRANT TIED TO THAT, ALSO WITH FI GRANT AND A SMALL PORTION OF LOCAL MATCH.

THERE'S THE HANGAR B APRON PROJECT.

THEN THERE'S A STORMWATER DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.

THAT'S THE THREE BIG CAPITAL PROJECTS THAT HAVE A BIG IMPACT ON OUR BUDGET THIS YEAR.

IF YOU TAKE THOSE OUT AND THE FIRE STATION, WHICH ISN'T AN AIRPORT PROJECT BUT IT FALLS UNDER OUR BUDGET, THAT LEAVES US WITH THE OPERATING BUDGET, WHICH I'M CONFIDENT THIS YEAR WE'RE WELL ON SCHEDULE TO HAVE MORE REVENUE THAN EXPENSES THIS YEAR.

THIS WILL PROBABLY STAY ON THE AGENDA FOR MOST OUR MEETINGS BECAUSE THIS IS SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE A REALLY BIG IMPACT ON THE AIRPORT AND THE WHOLE COMMUNITY.

BASICALLY, WHAT IT IS IS THE JACKSONVILLE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL CENTER IS PROPOSING THAT THEY EXTEND THEIR CLASS C ALL THE WAY OVER FERNANDINA.

THE IMPACT WE BELIEVE THAT WOULD HAVE ON US, IT WOULD CREATE A FLOOR OF AIRSPACE OVER FERNANDINA AIRPORT.

I DON'T WANT TO STEAL THE THUNDER AWAY FROM SAM, BUT IN RECENT DISCUSSIONS WITH THE FA, THERE MAY BE A REQUIREMENT TO GO THROUGH A SHORT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS TO DEVELOP THAT PROPERTY, AND WE CAN SEE THAT TIMELINE STRETCHING OUT A LITTLE BIT FURTHER TO THE POINT AT WHICH WE WOULD BE ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY DEVELOP AND GET SOME FOLKS IN SOME HANGARS.

SINCE THAT TIMELINE IS EXTENDING ITSELF, WE THOUGHT WE COULD FIT IN ANOTHER SMALL PROJECT, AND THEN HELP ACCOMMODATE SOME FOLKS IN HANGER SPACE AT THE AIRPORT.

WE'VE PROPOSED A VERY SMALL PROJECT ALONG JAMESTOWN ROAD.

THE SKETCH IS INCLUDED WITH THE APPLICATION OF SHADE WITH THE PROPOSED PROJECT IS. SINGLE ROAD HANGER.

WE SHOW ON THE IMAGE SIX BOX HANGER UNITS.

WE HAVEN'T STARTED ACTUAL SITE PLAN LAYOUT WITH AN ENGINEER.

ONCE WE GET INTO STORMWATER AND OTHER LAYOFF FACTORS THAT MAY BE REDUCED TO FIVE IF WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH SPACE THERE, AND WE'VE SKETCHED OUT TO BE CONSISTENT WITH THE USE OF THE TAX LANE WHICH IS A DESIGN GROUP ONE TAX LANE LIMITING THE WINGSPAN OF 49 FEET.

IT'S SET WITH A 39 FOOT OBJECT FREE SETBACK FROM THAT TAX LANE TO ACCOMMODATE THAT REQUIREMENT.

PART OF THAT PROCESS, FAA REACHED OUT TO US AND LET US KNOW THAT THERE ARE TWO OTHER FEDERAL GRANTS TIED TO THAT PROPERTY THAT GO BACK TO THE '80S, AND BECAUSE OF THAT, THEY BELIEVE IT'S GOING TO CREATE A LITTLE MORE WORK ON OUR PART TO SATISFY THOSE OTHER FEDERAL GRANTS.

WE'VE HAD MORE DISCUSSIONS AND WHAT WE'RE DOING NOW IS PUTTING A LETTER TOGETHER TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.

THEY ARE ACTUALLY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THOSE GRANTS, NOT THE FAA.

OUR GOAL IS TO GET AN ANSWER FROM THEM, THAT WE'VE DONE EVERYTHING WE NEED TO DO TO SATISFY THEIR GRANT OBLIGATIONS.

ONCE WE GET THAT, THEN WE CAN GO BACK TO THE FAA AND SAY THEY'RE SATISFIED, LET'S KEEP MOVING FORWARD THE WAY WE WERE BECAUSE THE WAY WE WERE MOVING BEFORE, THE FAA WAS NOT GOING TO REQUIRE A FULL ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT.

BUT NOW WITH THIS NEW GRANT PROCESS, THEY'RE TELLING US IT WOULD MOST LIKELY REQUIRE A FULL ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT, AND A FULL ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WOULD TAKE PROBABLY A MINIMUM OF 18 MONTHS.

THAT WAS THE LATEST, BUT WE BELIEVE WE HAVE A GOOD CASE TO MAKE IF WE DO OUR RESEARCH, AND CLEAR THESE OTHER GRANTS UP FIRST AND THEN GO BACK TO FAA AND MAYBE REDUCE IT BACK DOWN TO A NINE MONTH CATEX TYPE OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT.

THAT'S WHERE WE ARE WITH THAT.

NOT GREAT NEWS, BUT IT'S STILL A VERY DOABLE PROJECT.

IT'S JUST MORE HURDLES TO GO THROUGH.
