THIS IS OPTION ONE.

THE CITY IS NOT RECOMMENDING THIS OPTION FOR ACCESS REASONS.

ONE THING I WANT TO POINT OUT ON THIS OPTION, AS I PUT THE BOLLARDS IN THE WRONG SPOT FOR NASSAU STREET, I PUT THE BOLLARDS HERE.

IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.

THE BOLLARDS NEED TO BE RIGHT HERE.

SO THAT'S TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM DRIVING DOWN THOSE ROADS.

YES. YEAH.

THIS OPTION PREVENTS VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ON THESE ROADS INSIDE THE CEMETERY.

THIS IS NOT THE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDED OPTION.

SO IF WE CAN GO TO OPTION TWO, VERY SIMILAR.

THE YELLOW LINE DENOTES THE FENCE.

THE DECORATIVE GATE AGAIN IS AT HOLLY OR PINE, DEPENDING ON WHAT THE CITY FINDS.

THE OTHER DECORATIVE GATE IS AT BOSQUE BELLO.

THOSE ARE THE SAME.

THIS CHANGES AND PUTS A GATE AT PINE, CEDAR AND NASSAU STREET.

SO IF YOU GO FROM THE NORTH, HOLLY IS BLOCKED.

HOLLY IS BLOCKED FROM VEHICULAR TRAFFIC, PINE IS OPEN, OAK IS BLOCKED, CEDAR IS OPEN, COOPER IS BLOCKED.

BOSQUE BELLO IS OPEN.

AND THEN NASSAU STREET IS OPEN.

THAT'S FOR VEHICULAR TRAFFIC BOTH WAYS AND FULL CONNECTIVITY INTO THE CEMETERY OFF OF 14TH STREET AND OFF OF MAGNOLIA.

SO THE OTHER ONES, HOLLY OAK AND COOPER, THEY HAVE THE DECORATIVE BOLLARDS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CEMETERY, AND THERE THEY HAVE THE FENCE ON THE 14TH STREET SIDE. SO THOSE ARE BLOCKED FROM VEHICULAR TRAFFIC.

SO THIS IS THE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDED LAYOUT AND OPTION.

SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

SO IF THE BOLLARDS ARE LIKE ON ONE END, BUT YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO ACCESS BECAUSE I GUESS THAT'S NOT A ROAD.

THAT'S A FENCE.

YEAH. SO IF YOU SEE ON THE MAP, THERE'S GREEN ARROWS WITH EITHER SIDE.

THOSE MEAN YOU CAN TRAVERSE THERE WITH A VEHICLE ON PINE CEDAR AND NASSAU STREET.

I WAS GOING TO ASK ABOUT THE FENCE HEIGHT DRAWING AWAY ON THAT.

IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT WE ELIMINATE OAK, AND I AGREE WITH THAT.

SO I CHANGED MY ORIGINAL RECOMMENDED LAYOUT.

HAVING THOSE GATES THERE, BECAUSE HAVING A GATE AT PINE, CEDAR, YOU HAVE ONE AT BOSQUE BELLO AND THEN AT NASSAU, THEY'RE EQUALLY DISTANCE, EQUALLY SPACED.

SO ACCESS IN THE CEMETERY, WHETHER YOU PULL DOWN PINE, YOU CAN GET TO ALL OF THE GRAVES BETWEEN PINE AND HOLLY AND PINE AND OAK.

SAME THING. YOU CAN DRIVE INTO CEDAR, YOU CAN GET YOU CAN ACCESS EASILY ALL THE GRAVES TO OAK, TO COOPER.

AND SO THAT WAS WHY THESE STREETS WERE PRESENTED AS HAVING THE STANDARD GATE.

SO I'M GOING TO GO THROUGH THE NEXT COUPLE OF THINGS IN THIS PRESENTATION.

THEN WE CAN OPEN UP TO QUESTIONS IN A LITTLE BIT TOO, IF YOU'D LIKE.

SO BASICALLY ON THIS, THERE ARE NO STANDARD GATES, JUST THE TWO DECORATIVE GATES, THE SAME AS WHAT I'M PROPOSING FOR BOSQUE BELLO AND MAGNOLIA, WHERE YOU SEE THE RED IS THE SERVICE ROAD CONCEPT, WHICH THE SERVICE ROAD WOULD BE ON THE INSIDE OF THE FENCE.

SO YOU HAVE FULL VEHICULAR ACCESS WITHIN THE CEMETERY, BUT YOU DON'T NEED THE GATES OFF OF 14TH STREET.

THE CONCEPT IS GREAT.

IT JUST DOESN'T WORK IN THE CITY'S MIND THAT IT WORKS HERE.

IS THERE ROOM? YES. TECHNICALLY, YES.

IS THERE ANY LEEWAY IN THAT ROOM? WE DON'T FEEL THE CITY ENGINEER DOESN'T FEEL THAT WAY.

THE DEPARTMENT DOES NOT RECOMMEND THIS.

THE CONCEPT IS GREAT, BUT WE DON'T FEEL THAT IT WORKS HERE.

IT'S GOING TO BE TOO TIGHT. WE FEEL LIKE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HIT THINGS AND THEY'RE GOING TO HIT THE NEW FENCE AND WE JUST DON'T WANT TO GO DOWN THAT ROAD, NO PUN INTENDED.

I WANT TO BRING UP A COUPLE THINGS BEFORE YOU OPEN IT UP.

I KNOW THERE MIGHT BE SOME PEOPLE HERE THAT MAY WANT TO SPEAK ON THIS ITEM.

WE LOOKED AT FIVE FOOT VERSUS SIX FOOT.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT YOU ALL WANTED TO DISCUSS OR WANTED ME TO FIND OUT, I SPOKE TO THE CONTRACTOR.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FIVE FOOT AND A SIX FOOT FENCE IS ABOUT $3,000.

IT'S ABOUT $1.83, A LINEAR FOOT.

AND THEN THE CHANGE IN THE THE GATE HEIGHT, I WOULD IT WOULD BE ABOUT A $3,000 DIFFERENCE.

WE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT THE NORTH DECORATIVE GATE.

IT'S GOING TO WE'RE GOING TO DECIDE WHERE THAT'S GOING TO BE.

THERE IS FUNDING FOR THIS THAT WAS BROUGHT UP AT THE LAST MEETING.

WE ARE GOING TO USE THE PARKS AND RECREATION GENERAL PARK IMPROVEMENT ACCOUNT FOR THIS.

THERE HAS BEEN SOME TALK ABOUT USING THE PERPETUAL CARE ACCOUNT FROM THE LAST TIME WE MET.

THAT IS, WE WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING USE OF THE PERPETUAL CARE ACCOUNT.

WE ARE GOING TO USE THE GENERAL PARK IMPROVEMENTS AND THIS ITEM IS ON THE AGENDA FOR THE AUGUST 15TH CITY COMMISSION MEETING, WHERE THEY WILL THEY WILL THEY WILL GIVE THEIR FINAL APPROVAL ON THE FENCE.

SO JUST A RECAP.

I THINK I MENTIONED SOME OF THIS THE LAST TIME WE MET, SOME OF THESE MEETINGS I'VE HAD SINCE WE MET AT OUR LAST MEETING ON JULY 10TH, I HAD A ZOOM CALL WITH THE FRIENDS OF BOSS FELLOW GROUP.

WE SENT EMAILS TO THEM ON THE 10TH RECAPPING THE ORIGINAL LAYOUT.

I SENT HIM AN EMAIL ON JULY 19TH WITH THESE UPDATED DRAWINGS AND PLANS AND THEN I SENT HIM ANOTHER EMAIL ON THE 25TH TELLING THEM ABOUT THE DATE CHANGE FOR THIS MEETING BECAUSE WE WERE ALL EXPECTING TO BE ON THE EIGHTH.

I DO HAVE EMAIL RESPONSES FROM MEMBERS OF THE FRIENDS GROUP THAT ARE IN SUPPORT OF THE FENCE PROJECT IN TOTAL, SPECIFICALLY OPTION TWO, AND THEY ARE IN SUPPORT OF A SIX FOOT FENCE HEIGHT.

I MET WITH THE AMELIA ISLAND RESTORATION FOUNDATION ON THE 19TH AND THEY DID VOTE AND APPROVE OPTION TWO.

THEY'RE IN SUPPORT OF OPTION TWO.

THEY MADE MENTION OF THE FENCE BEING AT A SIX FOOT HEIGHT.

THEY'RE LOOKING FOR THAT. AND THEY ALSO SUGGESTED AND ASKED THAT I MEET WITH SOMEONE FROM THE OXLEY-HEARD FUNERAL HOME, AND SO ON THE 28TH OF JULY, SCOTT AND I MET WITH KYLE ATKINS, WHO'S HERE TODAY.

SO I APPRECIATE THAT AND I APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE WITH ME.

I ALSO WOULD JUST LIKE TO TAKE A MINUTE TO CLARIFY.

AND THAT HIGH OF A FENCE VISUALLY IS JUST TO ME TOO MUCH.

PLUS AT NASSAU STREET, YOU CAN'T REALLY ACCESS NASSAU STREET GOING BACK DOWN THE ROAD.

IT'S JUST TOO HIGH, ELEVATED ABOVE THE OTHER ROAD.

BUT WHEN YOU LOOK AT ERIC'S MR. BARTEIT'S PLAN AND LOOK AT WHERE HE'S TALKING ABOUT JUST DOING THE LITTLE TURNAROUND FROM ONE STREET TO THE NEXT, THOSE WERE EASILY NAVIGABLE TO ME.

I DIDN'T SEE A PROBLEM WITH IT AT ALL.

YOU'D STILL HAVE TO HAVE A GATE AT NASSAU STREET AND THEN THE MAIN GATE, I GUESS THE HOLLY GATE.

SO I WAS OKAY WITH THAT.

THE OTHER THING THOUGH, IS THAT I USED TO DEVELOP SELF STORAGE PROPERTIES.

AND WHEN YOU HAVE GATES, SOMEBODY'S ALWAYS GOING TO BE LEFT IN THERE.

WHEN THE GATES CUT OFF AT NIGHT, THERE'S ALWAYS SOMEBODY IN THERE THAT YOU CAN'T FIND.

AND WE ALWAYS HAD YOU PULL UP TO THE GATE AND IT WOULD IT WOULD HEAR YOUR CAR OR THE METAL WOULD AUTOMATICALLY OPEN THE GATE SO THEY COULD LEAVE.

IF WE DON'T HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THAT THAT YOU CAN CALL THE POLICE DEPARTMENT CALLS ALL NIGHT, ALL HOURS OF THE DAY AND NIGHT.

PEOPLE GET IN AND OUT OF THOSE GATE, PARTICULARLY OUT, IF THEY'RE TRAPPED IN THERE.

SO THAT MIGHT BE SOMETHING YOU WANT TO LOOK AT.

OKAY. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT AT THE HOLLY GATE, THOUGH, ON THE INTERIOR, MAYBE ON ONE GATE OR SOMETHING.

YEAH, JUST THAT ONE GATE AT THE OTHER END OF THE PROPERTY.

EVERY WEEK FOR THE LAST TEN WEEKS, THEY HAVE PUT IN A LOT OF HOURS TO ACCOMPLISH A LOT OF GOALS.

AND, YOU KNOW, THEY DID IT SHORT HANDEDLY, BUT THEY WENT OUT THERE AND THEY DID IT.

AND THAT IS A THAT IS TOTALLY ON BEHALF OF ALL OF US THAT ENJOY THAT.

THANK YOU. BECAUSE THEY DESERVE A WELL ROUNDED APPLAUSE FOR THEIR EFFORTS WERE BEING SHORT HANDED.

WELL, I KNOW I VISIT THE PARKS FREQUENTLY.

I HAVE A LITTLE ONE AND I'VE SENT CATHERINE AND SCOTT A FEW THINGS WHEN I'VE BEEN THERE AND NOTICED.

AND MOST OF THE TIME THEY'RE FIXED, THE NEXT DAY THEY'VE BEEN LIKE, OH, WE'RE THERE.

AND I WAS LIKE, OKAY. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS REALLY FAST.

SO THEY'VE, THEY'VE GOTTEN, THEY'VE GOTTEN THEM ON IT, WHICH HAS BEEN GREAT.

AND THAT JUST SHOWS THAT THE LEADERSHIP THEY HAVE PUT AT THE HEAD IS TAKING IT EVERY DAY.

AND AND THESE GUYS ARE GIVING 110% OF THEIR TIME.

UH, THE LAST THING THAT I WOULD LIKE TO BRING UP AND I THINK THIS IS I WANT TO THANK EVERYBODY FOR COMING ON THIS MEETING FOR THIS MONTH AND MAKING IT POSSIBLE THAT WE HAD A QUORUM AND THAT WE COULD ACCOMPLISH OUR GOALS AND MOVE IT FORWARD FOR THE COMMISSIONER'S MEETING.

AND TO ADDRESS ONE OTHER ITEM, I THINK WE AS A BOARD HAVE SHOWN SO MUCH LEADERSHIP IN OUR DECISION MAKING THAT WE ARE MOVING THIS THIS WHEEL CLOSER TO SUCCESS, YOU KNOW, AND I'M REALLY PROUD OF THAT.

I REALLY AM. AND I THINK WE'VE TAKEN ON SOME PROJECTS AND WE BROUGHT THEM TO A CONCLUSION.

SO I JUST WANT TO REMIND EVERYBODY, THE NEXT MEETING IS SEPTEMBER 12TH, WHICH IS A MONDAY.

IT WILL NOT BE HELD ON TUESDAY THE 13TH.
