BUT I THINK THAT THE AIRPORT MONITORING SYSTEM THAT I SUGGESTED BEFORE, WHERE THE CITY WOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE UPWARDS OF $90,000 A YEAR IN REVENUE FROM THAT IS STILL A GOOD ALTERNATIVE AND I'M NOT GOING TO GO OVER IT AGAIN, BUT I'M JUST GOING TO INDICATE THAT I THINK IT'S STILL A GOOD ALTERNATIVE TO THE PILOT SCHOOL SITUATION, AND IT WOULD HELP THE CITY AND WOULD HELP THE RESIDENTS AROUND THE AIRPORT.

I KNOW THE CITY PUT OUT A STATEMENT TODAY ABOUT THE PENDING HANGAR SITUATION AND ALL THAT'S PRETTY FACTUAL EXCEPT FOR THE TIMELINE.

MOST OF YOU GUYS KNOW WE'VE BEEN WORKING WITH NATHAN COLE AND THE PREVIOUS CITY MANAGER SINCE LAST JUNE ON ON THE HANGAR SITUATION FOR THE SOCCER FIELDS. I THINK IT WAS SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, WHERE WE BROUGHT THE SITE PLANS TO YOU GUYS.

AND WE TALKED ABOUT THE EASTSIDE AND THE NORTH SIDE.

AND AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD TO HOLD OFF ON THE APPLICATIONS UNTIL WE HAD THOSE MEETINGS.

SO SO THE STATEMENT THAT THAT THE CITY PUT OUT TODAY IS ACCURATE.

I DID PUT OUT THAT THE FORMAL APPLICATION ON MARCH 16TH, BUT WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON THIS FOR ABOUT TEN MONTHS.

THAT BEING SAID, I WANT TO SAY THAT I SUPPORT THE CITY LEASING THE SOCCER FIELDS FROM THE AIRPORT.

IF IT'S AT TRUE MARKET VALUE, WHICH IS 200,000 FOR THE SOCCER FIELDS AND PROBABLY ANOTHER 200 FOR THE SOFTBALL FIELDS.

SO IF THEY REALLY ARE GOING TO PUT $400,000 IN FUNDS INTO THE AIRPORT FUND EVERY YEAR AND NOT TRY TO TAKE IT BACK AS A MANAGEMENT FEE, WHICH HAS BEEN SUGGESTED THAT I'M SUPPORTIVE OF THAT. AND WE'LL AMEND OUR PLAN TO TO LOOK AT THE EAST SIDE AGAIN.

BUT I WOULD CAUTION THAT, YOU KNOW, THEY'VE ALREADY THEY ARE ALREADY CHARGING A MANAGEMENT FEE FOR THE HUMANE SOCIETY, WHICH IS ON A LEASE FOR $1 A YEAR.

SO IF THE COMMISSION IS LOOKING AT DOING ANOTHER MANAGEMENT FEE, I THINK THAT WE SHOULD KIND OF LOOK AT THAT.

IT'S TRULY A LEASE THAT'S GOING TO HELP BENEFIT THE AIRPORT.

WHAT DROVE OUR DISCUSSION ON THE SOCCER FIELD AREA WAS KEEPING OUR T-HANGARS TOGETHER, THE FUEL FARM FACILITIES THERE AND ALLOWING FOR THE LARGER CORPORATE HANGARS TO DEVELOP ON JAMESTOWN ROAD AND NOT HAVE T HANGARS THERE, WHICH THEN WHEN WE RUN OUT OF SPACE THERE, FORCES THE LARGER HANGARS IN ANOTHER LOCATION.

THE REASON THE WEST SIDE HASN'T BEEN ATTRACTIVE FOR HANGAR DEVELOPMENT IS UTILITY PERSPECTIVE.

SO ONE, YOU LIKELY HAVE TO REJUVENATE PAVEMENT TO PROVIDE A TAXI, A TAXI LANE OR TAXIWAY THERE.

THERE'S ALSO NEW UTILITIES SERVING THAT SECTION OUT THERE.

SO IT'D BE VERY COSTLY TO PUT THAT IN PLACE.

NOW DOWN THE ROAD, WHEN YOU FILL IN THE OTHER CONVENIENT LOCATIONS, YOU MAY GET TO THE POINT WHERE THE CITY IS LOOKING TO DEVELOP THAT, PROVIDE UTILITIES, REHABILITATE PAVEMENT AND MAKE THAT AVAILABLE.

BUT IT WOULD BE EXPENSIVE AND IT'S A PLANNING AND INVESTMENT DECISION THAT WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO BE MADE DOWN THE ROAD.

AND I'M NOT SURE THAT'S EXACTLY HOW THE FAA WORKS.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT IS.

AND PART OF THIS WHOLE IDEA IS GOING TO HINGE UPON WHAT THE FAA SAYS IS THEIR APPROVAL OF PROPERTY.

THE MASTER PLAN IS AERONAUTICAL FOR PRIMARILY FOR AERONAUTICAL USE.
