REQUEST OF THE VICE MAYOR. >> ONE MONTH AGO I WAS APPROACHED BY A CITY EMPLOYEE WHO ASKED IF I WOULD MAKE SOME EFFORTS TO DISCUSS AND LOOK AT AFFORDABLE HOUSING.

AS I THINK WE ALL KNOW AFFORDABLE HOUSING IS A CRISIS RIGHT NOW. WE HAVE A COMPREHENSIVE PLANT THAT DEALS WITH AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND THINGS WE SHOULD BE DOING WHICH HAS NOT BEEN HAPPENING.

WE ALSO HAVE IT AS OPPONENTS WHICH I FORWARDED I JUST WANT TO EMPHASIZE, I WAS ON THE COMMITTEE I WAS THERE AND THERE WAS A LOT OF TALK BUT NOTHING HAPPENED.

I THINK WE HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO MOVE FORWARD.

THERE ARE THINGS IN THE CITY THAT CAN BE UTILIZED OUTSIDE AGENCIES THAT THEY CAN WORK WITH ON PARTNERSHIP TO SEE WHAT WE CAN DO TO BRING IN AFFORDABLE HOUSING WE DID DO SOME THINGS THAT WERE BENEFICIAL AND WE DO HAVE SUBSIDIZED HOUSING.

BUT I WOULD LIKE TO EMPHASIZE THE DESIRABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD AND RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM. AND ALSO 12% OF OUR POPULATION IS IN POVERTY ACCORDING TO THE SENSES.

A COUPLE OF OTHER INTERESTING FACTS, AND THE 2017 CITIZEN SURVEY, 31% WAS FAIR AND SOME THOUGHT IT WAS POOR.

THEY MAKE THEIR PROFIT AND DIDN'T THEY PUSH IT BACK AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE GOVERNMENT TAKES IT BACK OVER AND MANAGES IT.

SO, I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT AND I THINK WE ARE FAILING I THINK IT IS A GOOD POINT AND WE ARE FAILING AND THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON OTHER THAN WE ARE NOT SPENDING ENOUGH TIME AND EFFORT TO FIND OTHER AVENUES TO MAKE ONE OF THESE PIECES OF PROPERY WORK, EVEN IF WE PUT 8-10 APARTMENTS.

I SUGGES CAMERAS. I HAVE CAMERAS ON EVERYTHING THAT I OWN AS WELL AS SECURITY. BUT I THINK CAMERAS WILL WORK TO SOLVE THE MAJORITY OF THE PROBLEM BUT IT WILL COST.

PEOPLE TO GO TO THE CEMETERY AND VISIT THEIR RELATIVES BUT ULTIMATELY WE DON'T WANT IT VANDALIZE.

IT IS A LARGE OPEN SPACE AND THE ACCESS POINTS ARE ON 14TH STREET, BUT IT CAN BE FENCED OFF.
