NAVIGATION. THE FLOOR IS YOURS. >> THANK YOU ALL FOR INVITING ME. TO SPEAK AT YOUR MEETING. ABOUT ONE OF MY FAVORITE SUBJECTS. THE NAVIGATION DISTRICT. THANK YOU FOR PLACING IT ON THE AGENDA. I KNOW YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT INTEREST IN FIND GRANTS AND I WATCHED A MEETING HERE LAST MEETING AND HEARD YOUR DISCUSSION ABOUT THE INTEREST IN JUDGING. I THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE YOU AN OVERVIEW OF WHERE WERE AT, WHAT'S OPEN AND WHAT HAS BEEN DISCUSSED FOR OUR APPLICATION FOR THIS YEAR THAT WERE IN, FISCAL YEAR 21. SO, FLORIDA INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICTS ARE AVAILABLE EVERY YEAR. EVERY YEAR THE GRANTS ARE DUE MARCH 31.

THE GRANTS THAT ARE AWARDED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS ARE FOR A 2-YEAR WINDOW TO EXTEND THE FUNDS. AND YOU CAN REQUEST 3RD YEAR EXTENSION.

THE GRANTS THAT ARE AWARDED TO OUR COUNTY TYPICALLY HAVE ABOUT $250,000.

WHAT THAT MEANS IS FIND WILL FUND PROJECTS IF THEY PROVE YOUR PROJECT THEY HAVE TOTAL COST OF AROUND $500,000. THEY WILL REIMBURSE 250,000 OF THAT.

RIGHT NOW WE HAVE 2 GRANTS ARE OPEN AND ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING IMPLEMENTED.

2019 WE APPLIED TO FIND A GRANT THAT WOULD DO IMPROVEMENTS TO OUR RESTROOM AND SHOWER FACILITY. SPECIFICALLY WE WANTED TO INCREASE THE TOTAL NUMBER 2 7 STALLS AND 7 SHOWERS AND PROVIDE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE BOATERS LOUNGE AREA.

THAT ONE IS CURRENTLY UNDERWAY. WE ALSO HAVE THE GRANT THAT WAS AWARDED IN 2020 LAST YEAR.

WHICH IS THE ONE YOU'VE ALSO DISCUSSED WHICH IS THE BOARDWALK IMPROVEMENT.

THIS GRANT WAS FUNDED UNDER THE 5 PRIORITY OF RESILIENCY. RIGHT NOW OUR BOARDWALK WHICH IS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE BOATERS LAUNCH IS AGING AND DETERIORATING.

THE CITY IS DOING A GOOD JOB KEEPING IT PATCHED TOGETHER BUT WE APPLIED TO DO WAS ELEVATE FOR RESILIENCY PURPOSES FOR 500 FEET AND EXTENDED A NEW 300 FEET BACK AROUND THE TOP

THOSE HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AND THE CITY HASEK SUSPENDED THAT $80,000, EXCUSE ME ABOUT $160,000 OF WHICH WE ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE ABOUT 80,000 BACK FROM FIND. HOWEVER, WE CAN'T RECEIVE THAT REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE PLANNING AND PERMITTING UNTIL YOU HAVE A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN HAND. WHICH IS REALLY FAIR.

FIND WANT PAY FOR IMPROVEMENTS AND THEY'RE WILLING TO PLAY FOR PLAN WHEN IT MATERIALIZES.

ASSUMING THAT THE NEW APPLICATION IS DUE MARCH 31 HAS ABOUT 500,000. I BELIEVE IT'LL HAVE LESS BECAUSE THESE TAX REVENUES ARE DECREASING EVERY YEAR AND IT WILL BE $450-$500,000.

WE SHOULD MOVE FORWARD. WE BELIEVE COLLECTIVELY WITH THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF SOME MOORING BALLS TO ALLOW US TO BE REINFORCE TO OUR COST.
